At a Kol Tikvah B’nai Mitzvah service, the child is the center of focus.

Our Two B'nai Mitzvah Programs
At Kol Tikvah, your B’nai Mitzvah Experience is tailored to fit the needs of your child.
Both programs include private study with Rabbi Jon Hanish, clergy and our B'nai Mitzvah tutors. Each B’nai Mitzvah
is crafted by the child, the clergy, and the family so that every B’nai Mitzvah feels successful on their special day.
Our Kehillah B’nai Mitzvah Program includes study in our Religious School, participation in our services, and involvement in our community.

The Yad B' Yad Program is a fast track program geared towards day school students, children with learning differences, long-distance learners, and time-limited learners. Yad B' Yad students are encouraged to participate in our services, and become involved in our community.
Adult B'nai Mitzvah
Have you never had a Bnai Mitzvah? It’s time to do it! Was it twenty or thirty or forty years ago? It’s time to do it all over again! Spend fourteen sessions studying the fundamentals of prayer book Hebrew, learning teffilot (prayers), practicing the art of reading Torah, and reflecting on the meaning of the weekly Torah portion. Along the way, you will learn from the Kol Tikvah clergy and staff. Most importantly, you will make close friends with whom you will share your adult B’nai Mitzvah.
Having never had formal education in Judaism, I found that Kol Tikvah offered an adult B’nai Mitzvah program. I felt the need to learn and I urged my mother to join me. It was more than words can describe! We, along with an amazing group, learned Hebrew, Jewish traditions, and reading and chanting from the Torah. This culminated in a B’nai Mitzvah in front of friends, family, and the congregation.
It was a spectacular experience as I was able to share such a meaningful event with my mother. We made lifelong friends and found a home and community at Kol Tikvah. (Story by Karen Neiberg)
